Mitt Romney for 2008!

What makes MITT ROMNEY the most qualified Republican candidate for 2008?

Here are three examples that I feel are extremely important:

ABORTION: Romney opposes abortion. Of course, extenuating circumstances are considered; it is definitely safe to say that it is murder and therefore wrong.

- Rudi Giuliani is the only Republican candidate that supports abortion.

- NONE of the Democratic candidates oppose abortion.

IRAQ: Romney believes in winning this conflict! I passionately believe that if we pull out of Iraq prematurely, it will only cause further and more serious problems in the future. It would only mean forfeiting all the efforts we have already worked so hard to achieve. Throwing away all our resources and labors would enable a victory for the terrorists, causing them win, including a victory concerning 9/11. The solution is to carry out and complete our objectives in Iraq. Ultimately, we can mend the country of its hostility, diminish the extreme threat presented, and eliminate the fear that is faced by every nation.

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE: Romney does not, nor has he ever supported same-sex marriage. He also does not support civil unions.

- John McCain:

Opposes constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage,

Believes that states should individually decide on the issue,

Supports legal benefits for same-sex partners.

- Rudi Giuliani supports domestic partnerships and legal benefits for same-sex partners.

One note concerning McCain's belief that states should decide individually concerning same-sex marriage - He well knows that there are states that would instantly take advantage of this and legalize same-sex marriages. This belief of his verifies that he supports same-sex marriages, even if it is indirectly as shown in this potential allowance of state-by-state choice.

In summary, it is clear to me that Mitt Romney is our best choice when it comes to the upcoming 2008 Election! Please research the candidates and vote this Fall!

Introduction

I just got back from an amazing weekend away! I went to my friend Kristi's house, which is a 45 min drive away, and we went to see 27 Dresses with her coworker (also named Alexis!), and her mom! The movie was great and tons of fun to watch! I loved it!

Then Kristi and I ran to the grocery store (Sherm's! Best grocery store on EARTH!) in addition, we picked up some food and snacks we wanted for the weekend. That included yogurt, milk, and some interesting raspberry muffin mixed that was entirely artificial.

On our way back to Kristi's house, we stopped by Dallas' apartment to ask if he needed any snow gear, (we were all going skiing/snowboarding the next morning!) but unfortunately he was not there. His roommates were though and they tried to invite us in to visit for a while, but Kristi was worried about her car that she parked in the handicapped spot and understandably did not want any fines or towing to deal with! Therefore, that made the perfect excuse and on our way out we ran into the missionaries (who were checking out Kristi's car, just standing around and looking at it - she was nervous thinking it was someone checking why she was parked as "handicapped!") but it was a couple of young missionaries from Utah. We visited with them for a couple of minutes, invited them over for hot chocolate, but they nervously said "NO" and hurt our feelings (not). So we were like "fine!" and departed. It was fun meeting them. Along with Dallas' interesting roommates.

We returned to Kristi's house and unloaded all my stuff and the groceries, and I got a grand tour of her adorable abode! She just moved in the multi-story house just 3 weeks ago! She and her older sister Kara purchased it together - WOW! Her house just could not be neater and it has a main floor, an upstairs, and a large basement! I put my stuff upstairs in the guest room and Kristi and I started visiting about life while standing in the kitchen. We then decided to try out some of that artificial raspberry muffin mix (note: they were 2 for 88 cents!) so we looked at the directions and mixed up the batter. However, we had some major improvising to do when it came to the next step. We had preheated the oven to 400F as directed, but Kristi warned me that we would have to get creative since she did not have a muffin pan! So...I decided to use a tablespoon and scoop out the batter onto a cookie tray. They spread quickly and made these large goopy circles. We put them in the oven, sat in her family room, and continued our discussions about everything. After 10 min had gone by, we went and checked on them. They were just turning golden around the edges so we took them out. They turned out relatively well - considering our lack of muffin pans - they were almost like a bready pancake of some sort. I suppose you cannot mess up artificial confections!
We took our muffin-cakes to the family room and watched a silly movie called "Bring It On" (the newer one from 2006, but not the newest one) and just talked about whatever was on our minds all throughout the commercials. By the time the movie ended, we had finished off all the muffin cake things and ready to rest for the big ski day tomorrow!

I fell asleep, but did not sleep long enough. Morning came waaay too soon, I groggily brushed my hair, did not have time to shower, and got all my ski clothes all together, and we left a little after 7am. I had an awesome Fiber One bar (I really love those), but Kristi's dad brought us all these amazing breakfast burritos from Gino's!!!! It was sooo warm and filling! Kristi's dad is awesome! He also drove his cool truck to Mt. Shasta where we all skied/snowboarded. Kristi, her dad, her sister Kara, and her brother all went, and so did Dallas. They all snowboard except for Dallas and me. So Dallas and I were ski buddies all day and had a fun time. I had never skied outside of the state of Utah, so it was interesting to experience the difference in snow! It was somewhat frustrating since the snow seemed very dense and wet, my skis would often sink way deep into the snow and I would get stuck!!! Dallas had to rescue me SO MANY TIMES that day! Thank goodness, he was there!

After skiing, we drove home, and I fell asleep promptly and did not wake up until we were back in town. We dropped Dallas off and went to Kristi's parents' house for dinner! It consisted of spaghetti with hearty meatballs, and French bread! Oh, that reminds me, I did not eat anything from breakfast burrito until spaghetti (around 8pm or so), but it was because I was not hungry. We had a lunch rendezvous at noon at Mt. Shasta, but they had chili and stuff, and I do not like chili. And I was not hungry anyways, so I had an apple juice. Later on, I had Hot Cocoa with tons of whipped cream! At first it wasn't "tons" of whipped cream, just a huge dollop on top, but it melted so quickly that I asked if I could have another dollop, and instead, they gave me a huge separate cup of whipped cream! Therefore, I was able to add it ever so often as needed; it was heavenly!

After dinner, we went back to Kristi's where I watched the newest "Bring It On" movie on TV, but I liked the other one so much better. Kristi had to plan her RS lesson for today, so she did not watch it. I went to bed as soon as it ended, slept for, oh 10 hours or so, and woke up around 9am. Church was not until 12:30, but I decided to get ready anyways. Kristi had texted me last night (yes, she texted me because she was upstairs) saying she had to be at church early for a meeting, so I thought she might be at that meeting. So I showered, dressed, and got myself all pretty for church, and then I see Kristi walking up the stairs in her pajamas. Hmm...I said "Hi", and she was like "Alexis...you do realize it's only 10am, right?" I affirmed that, and she said, "Ok, well, my meeting isn't until 11:30, but you can just stay here!" I said "alright" and then I went to my room and got everything repacked and made sure the room was cleaned up. I helped Kristi with some handouts she had prepared (I cut the papers into 4s and put them in an envelope, cool huh). Then Kristi left for her meeting and I sat down with my Chinese culture book and read about the incredible Shang dynasty. By the time I began reading about the western Zhou dynasty, it was about time to leave for church.

Church was great. Eric spoke AGAIN (he spoke last week too, different topic, in my home ward!) and even though he was as nervous as ever, he did GREAT! Sunday school was good and Relief Society was enjoyable. I drove home in pouring rain and was so happy to see my parents again! My poor dad is sick though. He got what I had last week! I hope he gets feeling better quickly! So we drink a lot of lemon tea with honey to boost our health now!

It is currently snowing hardcore and there is probably half a foot or more on the ground. Luckily I do not have to work tomorrow, so I will just cozy myself up at home and study all day! I have some assignments due very soon for my Chinese Culture class, along with Chinese Literature and Astronomy. I think I will do yoga with my mom in the morning too.

I have to work this Tuesday at 8-12. Then babysit at 4:30-8:30, so that will make a fun day! I love babysitting Wyatt & Mackenzie, they are such perfect dolls and very fun to be with!

As for now, it is getting kind of late. I think I will go to sleep very shortly so that I get wake up bright and early to start my new day! Spiconni Nochi!
