Remember, remember...

Lyrics for Liberty Jam!
(at the Teton Ballroom, one of my favorite places in Rexburg)

Dan Roberts (he's running for some sort of political spot) sponsored a fun music show on Saturday! Lots of local bands played, and there were free donuts and water. Haha. I'm voting for him. He throws fun parties, so he deserves our votes. JK! He's actually way cool though! We're even friends on Facebook!

I'm waiting for my mission call!!! It could get here either the 13th-ish or the 20th-ish! I had my very last interview yesterday morning with the Stake President! We just talked about missionary work a good hour (along with another kid preparing for his mission, his name was Corbin!)

I'm having a little "contest" on Facebook too! Well, not quite a "contest" as a "guess where I'm going" game. Everyone gets two votes, one state-side, one foreign, to guess where they think I'll get called to!
So far the state-side winners are Temple Square, followed by Oklahoma. Haha.
And the foreign votes are favoring Australia and Italy! My favorite vote so far is Kelby's. He said New Zealand. =)

Where do you think I'll go to? AHH I'm SO EXCITED! Anyone (Melanie, Brooke, anyone else) who wants to be here when I open the call is more than welcome to be here! In fact, I really hope you can make it! That'd be great! I even have a spare bed in my room if anyone needs to stay overnight!! We'll have lots of food, fun, and mission call unveiling!!!

Anyways, work is great! Halloween was fun! I got some cute scrubs from the store on Halloween Eve, and decided to be a medical worker. BOO!

I don't think many people noticed at work, but oh well.

Mary was a fortune teller and read my palm! Wanna know what she said? Her first glance at my palm induced a "WOW! You have a LOT of lines!!!" and she continued to say that I will live a long, healthy life, have 4 children, become pretty wealthy (but that it won't 'spoil' me). She also said that I'll have quite a few marriage opportunities since there are a lot of men in my life, hahah!!! Funny thing is she didn't know I had been engaged a couple of times already! She also said that I will have lots of fun adventurous oversea travels and that I'll meet tons of 'very interesting' people throughout my life! But that I also need to beware of the creepers and people who would take advantage of my kindness and stuff. And that I'll have some trials and tribulations in my life, but that I'll handle them well and pull through. And that I'm way creative, and she asked if I played the piano/art, etc. And she also said that I'm very good at living 'in the now' and not getting preoccupied with the future/past. It was fun! =)

Erika was a cute cat! She's fun to work with. We get along very well! She also just had a baby in April! Her baby' is Julia, and she is adorable!

Eric was a prison inmate! He shaved his head just for the costume! WOW!
And some little cops came in and arrested him. Hahahah!
Eric is funny. We get along way well too, and I find myself able to talk to him about anything. It's weird, haha. It's great having coworkers as friends though! Makes work even better than it already is!

Rick didn't dress up. Unless he considered his Hawaiian shirt 'dressing up'. He usually doesn't dress like that. Either way, he didn't get a photo.

Oh, and look what the window washer gave me the while at work!

I'm kind of sad: the trees, once laden with rich, vibrant autumn leaves, are now bare. They are ugly. At least the ground still has leaves!
(Not snow!!!)Anyways, I'm about to crash! I love Daylight Savings Time! Especially when we get our hour back from Vernal Equinox! But, now I'm all out of balance, timewise. I'll adjust soon though! It's so strange to leave work in the dark now though! Weird !

Peace! Love! Vote!

Hi!

I'm feeling oh-so much better now! Completely better, actually! Yesterday I got my physical done for my mission, and now the only things left to do is get my "mission photos" (Amanda's taking them for me tomorrow), and my interviews with the bishop and stake president! I'm getting sooo close now! In fact, I'll be submitting the online missionary recommendation stuff tomorrow, as soon as I have a picture to attach! Yahoo!

I had a great week at work! I did get that one day off, when I was feeling terrible after all those shots. But other than that, everything went well and was enjoyable! Eric is in Tennessee for the weekend, meeting his hero Dr. D'Adamo. So Mary and I worked at the store today. Sometimes she'd leave to do some errands, but she was usually around. She even went over to Subway and bought me a sandwich and told me to take a break! She's so sweet! I found some shocking news the other day about her. She's 'over 70'!!! I would never have believed she was that old! I would have guessed late-50s to mid-60s. Wow! She is such a cool 'over 70'-year old! That means she was born in the '30s. And we're FRIENDS! Weird. But SO COOL!

Tonight I'm going to a cool political promotion party thing. It's at the Teton Ballroom on Main Street. Dan Roberts, candidate running for office in the House, will be hosting free snacks and dancing! He actually had fliers calling it "Free Date Night!" Haha! Perfect for Rexburg. So, I think Bradley and I will go check it out. Oh, interesting thing happened this afternoon! Dan Roberts' DAD actually came and shopped at Nature's Nook! We helped him find his vitamins and supplements he was looking for, and then as he was checking out, he noticed our "Dan Roberts" flyer we had at the counter! He was like "that's my son!!!" Mary and I were like "Whoa! That's so cool!" and Mary told him how impressed she is with him, and he talked about how proud he is of him. So, that was fun! Maybe I'll see him again at the party thing tonight!

Oh, another thing. SCARY thing! I'm doing another henna treatment on my hair, even as I type this blog! However, unlike last time, this time I am using 100% Henna!!! (Last time I used a mixture of henna with a lot of indigo). I'm kinda nervous, but nothing bad technically should occur. I also had tons of fun adding spices and stuff! I added an egg for additional conditioning along with ginger and nutmeg for better smell and deeper highlights. So we'll see how it turns out. I know for a fact that since my hair is so dark, nothing nightmarish can result. I hope. =)

Last night my roommate never came home... I was sad (ok, not really)! In fact, I was super surprised when I got home last night, because I was pretty sure she would already be there! Brad and I had watched a movie at his apartment, and so I got home pretty late-ish. But as I walked to my room, I was astounded to find the light still on and the room empty! She must have decided to go have a slumber party with friends or something. I wrote on her Facebook wall, but she never wrote back! If I don't see/hear from her tonight, I'm calling her. Good thing I got her number the other day!

Did you know that I could possibly be getting my mission call in 3 weeks or less?! I seriously can't wait, and I haven't even turned my papers in yet! (Could be a different story by tomorrow!!!) I'm going to have a 'mission call opening party'. I'm going to have treats, and cakes, and fruit, and V8 (for the Bloody Marys, of course!), and invite all my good friends, and then they can all be there when I open it! I'm so excited! But, I definitely won't be having it at my apartment - Eww, gross! Hahah (my apartment really is ancient, rundown, icky). I'll either have it at my old apartment at the Ridge, or just at the Ridge clubhouse. Probably the apartment; it might be a bit cozier.

Well, it's time to rinse out the henna! And go party with the politicians!
Hahah, that sounds scandalous (in D.C. at least).

Another thing, Brooke tells me that blogs are boring without pictures, and that I should always include at least one photo. Here is a photo from last month. Between Saturday conference sessions, I went to Jamba Juice and got a wheatgrass shot with an orange juice chaser. The chaser wasn't needed, because I actually like wheatgrass.
Hurrah for GREENS!

Case File: Alexis vs. Klamath Falls

AKA: Why I am Moving back to Rexburg!
Premise: Over the past couple of weeks, I have been considering various options involving living somewhere else. For a little while I was thinking it would be way fun to live in the SLC area and be able to visit my BYU-I friends occasionally. But, for some reason or another, I just never really felt like it was a good idea. So I thought, “why not live in Rexburg?!” I love it there, I have TONS of friends, I can walk anywhere in town, so while at work I generated a “Pros & Cons” for staying here vs. moving to Rexburg. Here’s how it went:
Tulelake
Pros:
☼ I have no living expenses here, other than gas.
☼ I have a job at Staples.
☼ I can always be around Mom & Dad!
☼ GOOD FOOD!
Cons:
₪ The gas is killing my bank account!
₪ I spend a lot of time commuting back and forth to work.
₪ The people here are gross and grouchy. That makes me sad.
₪ There is nothing to do here and no one to hang out with.
₪ The occasional getting home from work at 10:30pm, then waking up at 4:00am to go back to work makes me feel like a corpse. It can’t be healthy, lol.
Staples @ unnatural hours of the morning.

Rexburg
Pros:
☼ #1 Pro is the Rexburg Temple is right there - I can go all the time!
☼ I have a job available there.
☼ I’ll be around thousands of young LDS people! Yay!
☼ I have friends there and there are fun things to do.
☼ Once I’m there, I’ll essentially have zero transportation expenses!
Con:
₪ I’ll have to be self-sustaining, pay rent, food, utilities, and any other expenses.
So, as soon as I situate a place to live, and finish out my scheduled hours at Staples (I handed in my memo of notification this morning), I’ll be moving! Hurrah! I might spend a day or so in Utah on the way back up there. I like Utah! And I love my sisters who live there!!!
Has anyone been watching the Democratic National Convention stuff?! What do you think about Joe Biden! Will he help or hurt Obama’s campaign? I certainly don’t think he can be considered an asset, in my opinion. But that’s good in relation to my point of view!
I probably have to go to bed soon-ish. I was sooo tired this morning! I was so unbelievably happy when I got to go home! This was my 9th day in a row or working without a day off in between. And I’ll continue to work every day until Sunday! Twelve consecutive days of non-stop work! Is that legal?! Jk!
Brooke and Taylor apparently had a heart-wrenching anxiety yesterday! They tell me that their kitten “Hector” is turning into a teenager and prefers to spend time out with his neighborhood cat friends instead of at home! In fact, last night he stayed out ALL NIGHT, causing Brooke and Taylor unbelievable distress and grief! They were soooo concerned! I think they probably secretly cried about it. They walked around the neighborhood for HOURS, calling his name and jingling his cat toy, but no sign of his presence! They hoped that he wasn’t stuck in a tree or found by people who wanted a new pet...lol. Taylor even got up at 4:00am and walked all the way to the Trax station, searching desperately for their missing pet, and still no sign! They were so distraught, they couldn’t sleep, they couldn’t stop worrying about their beloved cat! Then Taylor had to get ready for work, he looked outside – still no Hector. This must have been the saddest day of their lives up to this point! Then Taylor came back moments later, with none other than Hector in his arms! Brooke exuberantly shouted his name and held him in her arms! No words could possibly describe the feelings that attended their reunion! But Brooke says “he’s sooo grounded! No playing outside anymore unless I’m out with him!” Poor cat. They treat him like a human. Did you know that he sleeps in their bed with them almost every night?! And uses a pillow with them and sometimes the covers!
So, enough about Hector. He’s just a spoiled cat anyways.
Tonight we had a delicious dinner (as always!) Mom made some awesome salad with tomatoes from the garden! AND fermented carrot stuff! It was lacto-something, preserved with salt, whey, and ginger! It was good! And gingery! Dad and I got to make fun of Michelle Obama too (no offense to Obama supporters). But, it’s inevitable, she does a very strange thing with her mouth ALL the time! Especially when she’s unhappy about something. I tried to find a picture of it, but none sufficiently depicted the true essence of that priceless expression of hers! If you’ve seen her on TV for any amount of time, you know what I’m talking about!!!
Peace out!
